Los Abrigados Resort And Spa Don't miss out on this christmas adventure....Sedona's "Red Rock Fantasy" A light festival from Nov 15th to Jan 5th. A truly amazing light show. We visited it while I managed a nearby hotel in Cottonwood, AZ. Sedona is an amazing place to visit as it is a spiritual center and one of the vortex centers of the earth. A rich heritage of Native American culture has made this a center of art and culture. Book a room and enjoy one of the most pleasurable places on earth to visit.

Got to thinking about the haunted hotel thing and decided I might need to change my statement about not staying in any haunted hotels. I worked in the hotel industry for eight years and spent 2 years traveling for one company as a trainer. The only experiences I personnally had were strange noises and never thought of anything being super natural about them. I heard a lot of stories though. One hotel in Bettendorf, Iowa had a couple of strange stories. The lobby was scheduled to be completely gutted for remodeling. The bookkeeper took a poloroid picture (self developing) of the lobby prior to it being gutted while it was completely empty of people. When the picture developed there was a man standing in what was suppose to be an empty lobby. He was wearing an old fashion uniform and you could see through him (I've seen the picture). A night auditor at the same hotel told me about a night when a female guest came to the desk in the middle of the night in her night gown and with everything in her arms and asked for a differant room. She had turned down the sheet and blanket one side of the bed, got into the bed and turned off the light. She felt someone get into the other side of the bed, jumped up and turned the light on. The sheet and blanket had been turned down on the other side of the bed also but there was no one else in the room.

The First Visit!

The year was 1967; some of my friends had come over to my place to listen to music and hang out. My apartment was a one room place with a small kitchen and everything in one room except the bath. The walls had been painted in psychedelic colors and with all manner of pictures depicting the time. Everyone who visited seemed to want to add their own thing to the walls. In the midst of it all was a Jacobs’s ladder that ran from floor to ceiling, giving the illusion that it was going into heaven. I had strobe lights and black lights strategically placed for best effect…..a true hippie hangout. This was a usual night at my place; most of us would sit on pillows on the floor some on the bed. This particular night we decided that it would be cool to perform a séance and call upon spirits that had gone. We set up a circle and lit candles, drew a large pentagram on the floor and began calling on the spirits of the dead. All was pretty calm at first and everything seemed fine, we were passing around a pipe with pot and everything seemed as though it were for fun. A couple of us guys tried spooking the girls by pretending to be possessed….again all in fun. As we continued on a sullen darkness seemed to come over the entire group, we all felt it and decided that we should stop, unfortunately for us we didn’t seem to have any control over this feeling. The spirit darkened even more and candles began to flicker and some seemed to glow in unusual color patterns. The whole thing was becoming very freaky and uncontrollable. Things in the room began to move about with no one near them and finally a knife from the kitchen flew across the room. At that point we all screamed out and everything stopped. This was my first experience with paranormal activity, whether it was a spirit or some satanic being I don’t know for sure but it aroused my curiosity about the paranormal.
